![]() ![]() Jesus said in John 16:12-13 (AMPC) “I have many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them or to take them upon yourself or to grasp them now. The eyes of our heart must be flooded with light so as Paul said in Ephesians 1:17, we can know the secrets and the mysteries of God in the deep intimate knowledge of Him. Just because we can’t fully grasp something does not mean it is not the truth it is just a matter of peeling off the darkness of our understanding. Yet, Jesus knew that when He shared this mystery of the Kingdom with him, he would have difficulty understanding it, even though he was a scholarly man, well versed in scriptural truth. Nicodemus was a Pharisee, a leader among men, and a teacher of Scripture. That’s why He said what he did to Nicodemus. Jesus knew we might have difficulty understanding it at first. Being able to ascend into the heavens may seem like a mysterious or hard thing. Jesus shows us what we as men in right relationship to God can accomplish by the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God is part of the eternal realm where there is no time or distance and He lives in us too, enabling us to ascend into heaven with Him. (Ephesians 2:6) He does it first, and then we do what He did. Jesus always paves the way for us! He was the first one to be seated in heavenly realms while still on earth. However, by the Spirit of God working inside of Him, He was enabled to ascend into heaven while here on earth. On earth He was operating as a man, just like us. Jesus says this while speaking to Nicodemus in John 3:12 (NKJV) “If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.” What is Jesus saying? He was telling Nicodemus, that He is here now on earth as a man, and while here on earth, He has also ascended into heaven as a man. In John 5:19 (AMPC) Jesus says twice, that He can do nothing of Himself but only as He is taught by God. Jesus had to come to earth as a man without sin or He could not be the atoning sacrifice for the rest of mankind. He debased Himself to come to earth as a human being and He even endured the extreme pain of the cross in a human body in total obedience to God. Philippians 2:8 (AMPC) tells us that Jesus gave up His divinity shedding His rights that He had in heaven to come to earth. Can we as human beings ascend into heaven? Yes! Here are the Biblical proofs the most important example of a man ascending into heaven is Jesus Christ Himself. ![]()
